Project: Build an Addition
David is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. He was very confident and if I could I would give them more than 5 stars if I could. I would highly recommend Newhouse & Sun to anyone and everyone, can’t say enough good things about this company.
Let me start with the statement that I said throughout my renovation: “I don’t normally hug an individual to whom I am doling out thousands of dollars.” Newhouse and Sun contractors transformed my 1853 home with the renovation to a much improved safer environment. I hugged David every time I saw him. I went into the renovation with the request I wanted light, space and storage and the results were very satisfying. All evidence of the upgrading of the electrical system, drainage of the septic system, heating system and the added footage of home in not visible to anyone from the front of my home. There is a marriage of the old 1853 structure and the new construction. The original architectural design was wonderful and I learned as I went along how the plans work.
Having just retired I lived through the renovation staying in the front part of the house. I did a photo journal of the day to day changes. My home is a three story flat roofed house and the added solar tubes give me that light Victorian houses did not have. Radiant heat in the flooring makes the area much more cozy. There is a place in my new kitchen where I stand in my bare feet and can feel the warmth with the radiant heat and the cold effervescing from the remaining crawl space area.
I live on a steep hill. It was necessary in some cases to go over the house versus getting equipment into the back yard and other than an old huge oak tree stump everything got appropriately dispersed and fixed. My back yard is a virtual haven and without landscaping has become naturally beautiful and private. My lilac bushes (trees) were moved and have blossomed this past summer. I have multiple granite quarries in back of my home and the house is on a granite vein. Huge boulders were removed in digging the foundation for the back area and moved to areas of my choice. I am very pleased with the results and love the changes in my home. I have recommended Newhouse and Sun, Inc to multiple acquaintances and friends.

We hired Newhouse and Sun for our recent extensive remodeling project – and it was the single best decision we made! Dave Newhouse took the time to work closely with my wife and myself from beginning to end, making very sure to understand our needs and specific requirements of the project. He carried through the permitting process seamlessly, working with town officials to obtain all the necessary permits. The town officials specifically complimented Dave on his working relationship with them. When unexpected situations arose during the project, as they always do, Dave was there to smooth out the bumps in the road and keep things moving. The amount of time that Dave spent at our job site was impressive – he is truly a ‘hands on’ General Contractor. Most of all, Dave Newhouse represented our interests throughout the project. An excellent example of this is when a minor mistake was made in framing (door hung the wrong way), which we did not notice. Even though it was going to cost him to rectify the situation, Dave called the mistake to our attention and promptly.

Newhouse Construction was outstanding in all phases of my deck project. From Susan in the office to Dave coming out to my home to discuss the project, I could tell that customer service was their prime concern. David answered all my questions and discussed the different types of materials that could be used when building a deck. I also came to him with a problem that involved and oversized gate that I need to be installed for safety reasons. David researched the gate and came up with a great solutions that fixed the problem as well as enhanced the deck. I cannot express how professional Newhouse Construction is and I recommend this company to anybody who needs a project done for a reasonable price

We wanted you to know how very pleased we are with the work you did on our home, both last fall and this spring.
The installation last fall of the Thermal Panels and thermostat work beautifully and look great. The workmen who did the installation were efficient and cleaned up everything. We are so grateful to you for the excellent job that was done. We no longer worry about damage to our home caused by ice dams.
The work to remove and replace the shingles, as well as the installation of the new cupola and repairs to the trim, were also top rate jobs. We want to be sure that you know how much we appreciated your checking in on the project as often as you did – your presence was very reassuring.

Dave Newhouse and his crew did a great job installing the T-Melt ice melt system on our roof. Last winter we had ice dams and large icicles hanging from our gutters. The ice dams caused some interior water damage, and walking to our car parked outside was always an adventure. With this year’s major snow storms, everyone in our neighborhood it seems has ice dams and icicles, everyone, that is, but us. Thankfully, our gutters have stayed snow and ice free.
The T-panel system he installed solved our problem, and his crew was the most professional crew we’ve worked with so far. It’s been great not having to get on a ladder in the middle of winter to knock icicles off our gutters or to rake snow off the roof.
